The XSR700 retains all the best parts of the MT-07, the compact frame, and the lively yet reliable CP2 engine and just adds a touch of class with its old-school aesthetic. Saying it looks better is purely subjective. If you like the modern direction Japanese naked bikes are going in, then you would almost certainly prefer the MT-07, but for the rest of us, the XSR700 is there. It leans heavily into the retro theme and buyers will also need to lean into its simplicity, as the omission of a TFT dash is necessitated by the style-conscious round LCD binnacle.
