A NEW 310cc ENGINE MAKES THE GTS MORE POWERFUL AND RESPONSIVE THE EVER - CycleWorld.com
Information
With Piaggio recently unveiling the MP3 310 powered by a new 310cc HPE engine, it was a foregone conclusion that the liquid-cooled four-valve powerplant would soon end up in the Vespa lineup. That assumption has quickly come to pass with Vespa’s release of the new 2025 GTS 310. The SOHC fuel-injected engine gets its extra 32cc displacement over the old 278cc unit via an increase in stroke to 70.1mm from 63mm (bore remains unchanged at 75mm). Power increases slightly to 25 hp at 6,500 rpm while torque now peaks 21.3 lb.-ft. at 5,250 rpm. A new multi-jet fuel injector achieves better fuel atomization, and other tweaks such as an inclined cylinder position, offset cylinder/piston for reduced vibration and noise, heavier flywheel, and new crankcase design for less belt noise and reduced internal friction, all result in an engine that is not only more efficient but also easily passes the latest Euro 5+ standards. - CycleWorld.com
